About WhisperGuide
Hear the city talk back.
WhisperGuide is a location-based audio storytelling app for travelers, walkers, and curious explorers. Open the map, tap a place that catches your eye, and listen to a short story about what happened in the city that you are visiting — the history, the architecture, the food scene, the local culture, the legends people still whisper about.
Think of it as the friend who knows the neighborhood, and is happy to tell you about it while you walk.
Why we built it
The best stories about a city are rarely in a guidebook.
They're in the side streets, the old buildings, the diners that have been there for sixty years, and the legends that locals half-believe. We built WhisperGuide because we wanted a simple way to surface those stories — one tap at a time, exactly where you're standing.
We started in New York because New York has more stories per block than just about anywhere on earth. Track 61 under the Waldorf Astoria. Karaoke bars in Flushing where three generations sing the same songs. Architecture in the Village that survived four different versions of the city. We wanted all of it to be one tap away.
What makes WhisperGuide different
You're in control. You decide what to listen to, and when. Tap a place on the map, see the story card, press play if you're interested, or keep walking.
Six categories, your choice. Pick what you're in the mood for — History, Architecture, Food & Drink, Local Life, Nature, or Legends — and the map shows you what's nearby.
Built for walking. No driving mode, no car-friendly compromises. Routes are designed for the pace of a person on foot.
Honest about what it is. The stories are AI-generated. We say so on every page. We've worked hard to keep them grounded and accurate, but we're not pretending an AI is a licensed tour guide.
A note on AI and accuracy
WhisperGuide uses AI to generate storytelling content. We design stories to be useful and engaging, but AI-generated information may not always be complete or accurate. Please use the app as a travel and discovery companion, not as a source of official historical, legal, safety, or navigation guidance.
