WhisperGuide operates the WhisperGuide mobile application and the website at www.whisper-guide.com.
WhisperGuide is a location-based audio storytelling app that helps users discover nearby points of interest, listen to AI-generated audio stories, and follow themed routes.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use WhisperGuide, we may collect the following categories of information.
Account Information
When you create a WhisperGuide account, we may collect your name, username, email address, login credentials, and account settings. Passwords are stored in encrypted or hashed form.
Location Information
WhisperGuide uses location information to show nearby points of interest, generate relevant stories, trigger location-based content, and create themed routes.
Depending on the permission you grant through your device settings, we may collect approximate or precise location while the app is in use.
We do not track your location in the background unless a future version of the app clearly asks for and receives your permission. At launch, WhisperGuide is designed to use your location while the app is in use.
You can change or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. Some app features may not work properly without location access.
App Usage Data
We may collect information about how you use the app, such as selected categories, stories played, routes started, saved or favorited places, language preferences, audio playback activity, screen interactions, and general feature usage.
This helps us operate, troubleshoot, improve, and personalize the app.
Purchase and Subscription Information
If you purchase a day pass, subscription, or other paid access, payment is processed by the Apple App Store, Google Play, or another authorized payment provider.
We may receive purchase confirmation, product type, subscription status, expiration date, renewal status, cancellation status, and related transaction identifiers. We do not receive or store your full credit card number or full payment credentials.
Device, Log, and Diagnostic Data
We may collect device and technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, approximate region, crash logs, error reports, performance data, and diagnostic information.
User Preferences
We may store your app preferences, such as language selection, selected categories, saved places, favorite routes, voice preferences, and other settings.
Support Communications
If you contact us for support, we may collect your name, email address, message content, screenshots or files you choose to send, and related information needed to respond to your request.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
provide, operate, and maintain WhisperGuide;
show nearby points of interest and location-based content;
generate AI-based text and audio stories;
create and improve themed routes;
save your preferences, favorites, and account settings;
process, verify, and manage purchases or subscriptions;
provide customer support;
diagnose bugs, crashes,and technical issues;
protect the app against fraud, misuse, abuse, and security risks;
analyze product performance and improve the user experience;
send account-related messages, such as password resets, important service notices, legal updates, or purchase-related information;
comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
We do not use your precise location data to build an advertising profile.
4. AI-Generated Content
WhisperGuide uses artificial intelligence and related service providers to generate or support text, audio, and location-based content.
To generate stories or audio, we may send relevant information to AI, audio, or infrastructure providers, such as place names, location coordinates, route context, story prompts, selected language, and app-generated content instructions.
We do not intentionally send your password or full payment information to AI providers.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, fictionalized, or outdated. This Privacy Policy explains how data is handled, but it does not guarantee the accuracy of app content.
5. Third-Party Services We Use
WhisperGuide relies on third-party service providers to operate the app and website. These providers may process information on our behalf or provide services directly to you.
Examples may include:
AI and text generation providers, such as OpenAI, for generating app content;
text-to-speech or audio providers, for creating audio narration;
map and location providers, such as Google Maps and Google Places, for maps, points of interest, routes, and location-based features;
public information and image sources, such as Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, OpenStreetMap, and related public data services;
hosting and database providers, such as Render and Neon, for backend services and data storage;
image hosting or media providers, such as Cloudinary, for storing or delivering app images;
analytics, crash reporting, and diagnostic providers, if used, to understand app performance and fix issues;
payment processors, such as Apple App Store and Google Play, for purchases and subscriptions;
email and support providers, if used, to send account-related emails and respond to support requests.
These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and contractual terms. We use them only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, analyze, and improve WhisperGuide.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
6. How We Share Information

with payment platforms to verify purchases and subscriptions;

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not share your precise location with advertisers for targeted advertising.
7. Location Data — Important Details
Because WhisperGuide is location-based, location data is important to the app experience.
At launch:
WhisperGuide uses your location while the app is in use.
We use location to show nearby points of interest, generate relevant stories, support route features, and improve app functionality.
We do not track your location in the background.
We do not sell precise location data.
We do not use precise location data to build an advertising profile.
We do not intentionally maintain a long-term movement history of where you go.
Some technical logs or records may include location-related information when necessary to operate, troubleshoot, secure, or improve the service.
You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings. The app may have limited functionality without location access.
8. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide WhisperGuide, maintain your account, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud or abuse, and maintain business records.
In general:
account information is kept while your account remains active;
purchase and transaction records may be kept as required for tax, accounting, legal, and compliance purposes;
support communications may be kept as needed to respond to your request and maintain service records;
technical logs may be kept for a limited period unless needed for security, fraud prevention, legal, or troubleshooting purposes.
If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account within a reasonable period, except where we are required or permitted to retain information for legal, tax, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or compliance reasons.
9. Account and Data Deletion
If you have a WhisperGuide account, you may initiate account deletion inside the app through the account settings or deletion feature.
You may also contact us at support@whisper-guide.com for help with account or privacy requests.
Deleting your account is intended to remove your account from our active systems and delete or de-identify personal information associated with the account, except information we are legally required or permitted to retain.
Deleting the app from your device does not automatically delete your WhisperGuide account or data.
If you purchased a subscription through Apple App Store or Google Play, deleting your WhisperGuide account may not automatically cancel your subscription. You must cancel subscriptions through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
10. Your Choices and Rights
You may have choices and rights depending on where you live, including the right to:
access certain personal information we hold about you;
correct inaccurate information;
request deletion of certain personal information;
object to or restrict certain processing;
withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
request a copy of certain information in a portable format;
manage app permissions through your device settings.

You can also:
update account information in the app, where available;
revoke location permission in your device settings;
delete your account through the in-app account deletion function;
cancel subscriptions through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
11. Children’s Privacy
WhisperGuide is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to WhisperGuide, contact us at support@whisper-guide.com, and we will take appropriate steps to delete the information.
If a higher minimum age applies in your jurisdiction, WhisperGuide is not intended for children under that age unless legally valid parental consent is provided.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information, including encrypted or hashed password storage, access controls, and secure hosting practices.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. International Users
WhisperGuide is operated from the United States. If you access the app or website from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
These countries may have data protection laws different from those in your country.
14. No Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information for money.
We also do not sell or share precise location data with advertisers for targeted advertising.
If our data practices change in a way that requires additional rights, notices, or opt-out choices under applicable law, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide appropriate choices where required.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date or “Last updated” date.
