Common questions
The app isn't finding any stories near me.
A few things to check:
Make sure location permissions are turned on for WhisperGuide. On iPhone: Settings → WhisperGuide → Location → While Using the App. On Android: Settings → Apps → WhisperGuide → Permissions → Location.
Make sure you have at least one story category selected on the category screen.
WhisperGuide works best in cities and walkable areas. Very rural locations may have few or no stories nearby.
Try walking a block or two and tapping the map again — the app refreshes nearby places as you move.
If stories still aren't loading, email us with your approximate location and we'll take a look.
Location permission isn't working.
WhisperGuide needs location access to find places near you. If you previously denied permission:
On iPhone: Open Settings → WhisperGuide → Location and select While Using the App.
On Android: Open Settings → Apps → WhisperGuide → Permissions → Location and select Allow only while using the app.
WhisperGuide only uses your location while the app is open. We do not track your location in the background, and we never sell or share location data.
The audio won't play.
Try these in order:
Check that your phone isn't on silent mode (the audio plays through the regular media volume, not the ringer).
Turn the media volume up.
Close the app fully and reopen it.
If you're using Bluetooth headphones, try disconnecting and reconnecting them.
Make sure you have an internet connection — stories stream from our servers and need data or Wi-Fi to play.
If audio still won't play, email us with your phone model and what you tried.
I have a question about my subscription, billing, or refund.
Subscriptions and one-time passes are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. Refunds are handled by them, not by WhisperGuide.
Apple: Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund for your WhisperGuide purchase.
Google: Visit play.google.com, find your WhisperGuide order in your purchase history, and request a refund.
For all other billing questions — passes not unlocking, plans showing the wrong status, or anything else that looks off — email us at support@whisper-guide.com and we'll help sort it out.

How do I delete my account?

In short — email us at support@whisper-guide.com from the address connected to your account, with the subject line "Delete My WhisperGuide Account."
One of the stories has a mistake. How do I report it?
We appreciate the heads-up — accuracy matters to us.
WhisperGuide stories are AI-generated, and while we work to keep them grounded, mistakes do happen. If you spot one, email us at support@whisper-guide.com with:
The name of the place
The category (History, Architecture, etc.)
A short description of what's wrong
We'll review and update the story.
How accurate are the stories?
WhisperGuide uses AI to generate storytelling content. We design stories to be useful and engaging, but AI-generated information may not always be complete or accurate. Please use the app as a travel and discovery companion, not as a source of official historical, legal, safety, or navigation guidance.
